Named after the mineral water of Mt. Osaka, one of the three famous mineral water springs of the Edo period’s Tokaido, our store has produced “Meisui Mochi” for many years. Please come by and give it a try!

Northern

We offer direct sales of our pickled vegetables made from fresh ingredients such as summer Kyoto-style shibatsuke or winter senmaitsuke. Visitors to Marucho may also tour our production factory.

Central

Our store is the largest within the premises of Mt. Hiei, and is located in front of the bus center of the head temple of the Tendai sect of Buddhism, Enryakuji Temple. Here we have the souvenirs of Mt. Hiei, as well as an assortment of famous products from Kyoto and Shiga. Our specialties are Mt. Hiei goma tofu (tofu-like dish made with ground sesame paste) and Mt. Hiei goma daifuku (rice cake stuffed with bean jam and topped with sesame seeds).

Lameristore is located near the lakeside of Lake Biwa. Here we serve curry and chicken and rice made with homemade spices, as well as minced pork rice, handmade desserts and specialty coffee. Holiday Afternoon contains both a well-maintained 2,000 square meter natural grass dog park, as well as a popular cafe with handmade bread and sandwiches. In addition to the cafe, you can also enjoy an Omi beef barbecue and a day-trip hot spring with a cloudy sodium bicarbonate bath.
