Founded in 1867, Tozaburohimo’s business focuses mainly on the production of decorative strings for holding kimono belts in place by using techniques that have been passed down through family. Please feel free to come and touch subtly woven cords made with natural plant dyes.

Techniques from the Edo Period (1603-1868) are used to paint various traditional “Otsu-e” paintings, which are then displayed and sold. These paintings can be enjoyed in an old-fashioned environment.

Founded in 1966, Jinbo Pearls is Lake Biwa’s pearl specialty shop. During the heyday of the Lake Biwa pearl, our main business was in overseas sales, but we have sold primarily within Shiga Prefecture since that time. We built a shop by the Shiga Prefectural Office in 2014, and began sharing history and background information along with our Lake Biwa pearls.
