Our store is the largest within the premises of Mt. Hiei, and is located in front of the bus center of the head temple of the Tendai sect of Buddhism, Enryakuji Temple. Here we have the souvenirs of Mt. Hiei, as well as an assortment of famous products from Kyoto and Shiga. Our specialties are Mt. Hiei goma tofu (tofu-like dish made with ground sesame paste) and Mt. Hiei goma daifuku (rice cake stuffed with bean jam and topped with sesame seeds).

Northern / North central

We gather freshwater fish from the west side of Lake Biwa to prepare our “ameni” dishes (a specialized boiling process) and “funazushi” (fermented sushi). We also offer pickled vegetables. Please come and try our homemade flavors that have become renowned through the country.

Central

We serve cuisine prepared using Omi rice and both local ingredients, as well as ingredients bought from Omi’s speicalty goods store, “Ureshiya.” We serve a variety of different meal sets, and are eagerly awaiting your visit.

We specialize in original bags and purses that are carefully adorned by Japanese golden leatherworking techniques that have been traditionally passed down from European traders.

North central

Our restaurant is located within the grounds of Mount Hiei’s Enryakuji Temple, the headquarters of the Tendai sect of Japanese Buddhism. Here you can both experience the views of Lake Biwa, as well as enjoy our cuisine which puts an emphasis on the usage of locally sourced ingredients. We also carry a wide variety of popular souvenirs such as Mount Hiei homa tofu, and recently reopened after renovation in the spring of 2019.
