Founded in 1966, Jinbo Pearls is Lake Biwa’s pearl specialty shop. During the heyday of the Lake Biwa pearl, our main business was in overseas sales, but we have sold primarily within Shiga Prefecture since that time. We built a shop by the Shiga Prefectural Office in 2014, and began sharing history and background information along with our Lake Biwa pearls. Mount Hiei’s Enryakuji Temple’s very own specialty “yuba” (tofu skin) store. We sell various types of yuba related products, as well as “osashimi-yuba” (tofu skin sashimi) here at our shop.

At Kano Shojuan Sunainosato we aim to provide “kaiseki” meals that incorporate seasonal ingredients into the process of the tea ceremony. Guests can enjoy seasonal food together with the colors of the season. All meals are by reservation only, so please make a reservation before your visit. At the adjoining Irori Sabo, guests can also enjoy handmade Japanese sweets such as zenzai made with fresh ingredients including azuki beans, mochi, and Japanese chestnuts.
