Visitors can take a look at our production line, or purchase some of our “Yuuko” Izutsu Yatsuhashi (a traditional sweet made of sweet red beans wrapped in soft mochi sheets). The shop also includes exhibitions of Otsu-e paintings, Otsu abacuses, bamboo blinds, needles, and more objects associated with the old Tokaido Road and inns along the forked road.

Our specialty product, Ishizumi bread, uses raisins and walnuts to represent the black and white stones for which Sakamoto masonry is famous for. We would be delighted to provide local deliveries from our store to you.

Come and enjoy a meal at a merchant house that was built in 1905 and is a nationally registered tangible cultural property. Our backyard is a garden constructed by Ogawa Jihei VII, who is famous for designing Maruyama Park and Heian Jingu Shrine.

We are a picturesque location that is surrounded by greenery and is overlooking Lake Biwa. Please enjoy spending a moment of your time in this exceptional atmosphere. Our home roasted coffee and Omi Beef Suji Curry are our recommendations.
