Mii-dera Temple(Onjo-ji Temple)
Venue Introduction
As the head temple of the Tendaijimon sect of Buddhism for over 1,000 years, Mii-dera Temple is a venue will
satisfy domestic and foreign visitors with its many nationally designated cultural properties. These include the
Kondo(a national treasure) and Niomon Gate(an important cultural property). Others such as Benkei's Bell(an
importat cultural property) and the three-storied pagoda(an important cultural property) will welcome you along
with the cherry blossoms of "Evening Bell at Miidera", which is one of the eight famous views of Omi. This venue is
also renowned for its cherry blssoms in the spring, and the road leading to the temple is colored by a tunnel og
autumn leaves in the fall in addition to there being a special illumination event at night. Mii-dera Temple also offers
zazen meditation experiences. Reservations required for five people or more.

Former Chikurin-in Temple
Venue Introduction
The Former Chikurin-in Temple is just one satobo residence where the monks of Hieizan Enryaku-ji Temple once
retired to. There is a nationally designated garden of scenic beauty of about 3,300 m2 to the southwest of the
residence on the grounds. This scenic garden contains hills, waterfalls fed by the Omiya River, and a splendid view
of Mt. Hachioji. There are also two tea rooms built in the Taisho Era(1912-1926) and the Azumaya Arbor, all of
which are cultural properties designated by Otsu. The abundant nature onsite and Otsu's dedication to maintaining
the Former Chikurin-in Temple creates a genuine atomospherefor every season.

Hieizan Enryaku-ji Temple
Venue Introduction
Standing watch over Japan's history and marked as a UNESCO World Cultural Heriatge Site, Hieizan Enryaku-ji
Temple will be a special experience for all participants. The temple is located on the prefectural borders of Kyoto
and Shiga, offering a panoramic view of Lake Biwa to the east and the cityscape of Kyoto to the west. Moreover,
the temple has well-established cable car and driveway routes, so visitors can readily access the venue while
taking nature walks, exploring the historical sites, and visiting the various temples along the way.

Ishiyama-dera Temple
Venue Introduction
Located on the west bank of the Seta River flowing from Lake Biwa and the southern end of Otsu, Ishiyama-dera
Temple is the haed temple of the Buddhist Shingon sect. This temple is known for having inspired The Tale of
Genji in the Heian Period(794-1185) when Murasaki Shikibu came to the temple. It is therefore considered to be
the setting where women's writing started to blossom in Japan. It is also known as a "flower temple" with cherry
blossoms, azaleas, and a plum garden on the temple grounds. Not only are the autumn leaves on the grounds
specially illuminated in the fall, but also tea parties, jazz concerts, and additional events are hosted here.

Former Otsu Public Hall
Venue Introduction
Constructed as Otsu Public Hall in 1934, this building was used as a place for citizens to interact for many decades
as abeloved facility. It is ranked as a meaningful building among the existing building in Otsu with a high
historical value according to Shiga Prefecture's Modern Heritage Comprehensive Survey. Currently, it has been
converted into a facility for commerce and exchange with four restaurants, all while kkeping its former
atmosphere.

Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine

Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine has been revered as a vital shrine in preventing evil since ancient times, and is the main
shrine of more than 3,800 branch shrines nationwide. It is known as one of the best spots for viewing autumn
leaves in Shiga Prefecture, being illuminated from mid to late November. It is possible to hold your event at the

Otsu Traditional Performing Arts Center
Venue Introduction
Surrounded by the rich nature of the sky-blue Lake Biwa and verdant mountains, this facility is a source of the
long-standing traditional culture of Otsu. Not only is there a Noh performance hall that is used for Noh plays,
dances, and musical performances, but also a traditional Japanese style room that can be used for tea
