Highlights & Introduction

The enshrined deity of Kanda Shrine is Hikokuni Fukinomikoto.
The main shrine building was constructed in the Nanbokucho period (1336-1392) using the “Sangensha Nagarezukuri” style, and is recognized as an important cultural property of Japan. Against a background of green trees and shrubbery, the main shrine gracefully resides on the pond side of the shrine grounds. The shrine’s detailed “kaeru-mata” (curved wooden supports) and “kegyo” (decorative gable boards) carvings are also a sight that should not be overlooked.
