Artists from Japan and overseas across a range of genres
traveled to Otsu to experience it in person through all their senses
and to express Otsu’s nature — including Lake Biwa —
and its history, culture and food through their art.
In their works, they depicted new aspects of Otsu,
and produced a project that merges art with travel.
That is the Otsu Festival.

Each work is inspired by a certain aspect of Otsu,
and sometimes involves locals and visitors.
If a work opens your eyes to a new aspect of Otsu’s charm,
we hope it will inspire you to come visit and
experience the world of the Otsu Festival.
An undiscovered Otsu awaits you.
